Before: a Colonial with a gorgeous view from the front porch, but no porch. Let's fix that.
Before: the new porch will wrap around the right side here and will provide easy access to the kitchen door. The columns have to be carefully spaced so as not to block the basement entry, yet have to look balanced on the doors and windows of the front.
After: notice how the steps are centered on the front door and also on the length of the new front porch.
After: notice also now the columns on the side are symmetrical from the front porch corner to the back porch corner...and how the the columns at the corner are equidistant from the corner itself.
This porch was built by Bob Davis Home Improvement, out of Falling Waters. They really did a great job.
Because of the deep overhangs of the porch, the house stays cooler in the summer now.
Tank loves the view.
